What can you make with ground turkey that's healthy?

Hey everyone - I am trying to make new things for supper that are healthy, and low carb with ground turkey. If possible something I can use to take in my lunch. I do not have access to a microwave at work, so it will have to be good cold too. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for the help.

Sautée it with some onion, broccoli, Kale, and your favorite spices (I like chilli powder, garlic, salt, pepper, and a bit of cayenne)! Never had it cold, but I doubt it'd be bad

There's a great recipe on allrecipes.com for Turkey garbanzo kale soup that is super tasty! Since you don't have a microwave ...maybe buy a thermos to keep it warm?

Stir fry some green beans with ginger and onions. Add to the cooked turkey.

You could crumble and fry it in a pan, mix it with cheese and vegetables, and use it as a stuffing inside of whole wheat muffin batter to make a healthier sort of pasty.

Tacos & tostadas. Shepherds pie with cauliflower mash in place of mashed potatoes. Italian meatballs in tomato sauce. Stuffed cabbage rolls. Meatloaf, or tiny muffin cup individual meat loaves. Cuban Picadillo with raisins and olives.

I would rather have turkey meat than ground turkey if it has to be cold. Can you take a wide mouth thermos? Gives you some more options.

Not just the best turkey meatloaf I've ever tasted, the best meatloaf of ANY kind I've ever tasted:

Spaghetti, chili, unstuffed cabbage rolls, shepherds pie, turkey burgers...basically anything you would normally use ground beef for!

I cook a bunch up and do tacos one night and then add to green salad with avacado the next day.

Ground turkey is my favorite substitution - takes up the flavor of anything and is sooo good, and far fewer calories than beef!

Unfortunately, most things made with ground meat are usually hot. I make everything that calls for ground beef, with ground turkey instead. Spaghetti meat sauce, meatballs, meatloaf, tacos, burritos, burgers, chili, stuffed peppers, nachos... The list is endless!

Honestly, I replace beef in almost any recipe with ground turkey (unless I'm really really jonesing for ground beef).

I'll second the person saying to get a thermos so you can have some way to heat though...can't think of many things with turkey I'd want to eat stone cold :open_mouth:

You can use it in any recipe that calls for ground beef. I don't use it as much as I used to, I go for extra lean ground beef, but I used those it more often, mostly for burgers and tacos. You can also use it for chili, meatballs, stuffed peppers, etc.
