Hi. I am thinking of signing up agai with a personal trainer. Hoping this will make me lose weight / fat and keep me accountable. To give you a bit of history. I lost 4 st a few years ago following weight watchers. I stopped going to the meetings and piled it all back on. During my weight loss journey I did a pt session with a lady once a week and my body changes rapidly.

So now here I am having gained the weight back. I want to lose weight myself as really don't like these slimming club meetings. I find them depressing. So I have a choice of two trainers that I am thinking of but not sure who to go for.... Help!

Trainer 1: trained with her before and I know she is good. She doesn't give you a programme in between pt sessions though and doesn't measure you or take body fat %. Charge £25 an hour

Trainer 2: she does pt in her home gym and its £20 an hour so very cheap. You get a program to follow in between and she also does measurements and body fat %.

Some my friends go with trainer 1 and others trainer 2 so lots of good feedback. I think trainer 2 will be a bit more intense but 1 is still good. Who would you pick! I might get a gym membership cheap one to do classes too as like them. xxx

Why not try them both out, see who you like and make a decision from there?

Qualifications? Recommendations? What kind of training do they offer? Either of them do weight lifting?

How does trainer 2 measure body fat.

Most importantly which do you respect the most, which one would motivate you the most, who would you laugh with, swear at, who would make you do stuff you never dreamed you could

My PT is £45 an hour  and knows his stuff, and I absolutely laugh and *kitten* and swear through every single weekly training session...I can't count how many times I've told him I hate him...he just hates me right back and then we do another set

But you'll lose your weight by calorie control...you know this right?

Since it sounds like external accountability is a good motivator for you, I recommend Trainer 2 as she does measurements, assuming they are both equally qualified and otherwise motivating.

I'm a US military veteran and in their TeleMOVE program. I weigh on a scale that transmits my data to my coach. Knowing that someone else is seeing my weight helped break me out of the slump I've been in since I hit my first mini-goal.

Thanks all. Trainer two measures body fat using scales. I know it's not entirely accurate but gives me an idea. I think I could have fun with both of them. Am swaying to trainer one as she cheaper and then can do cheap gym membership on top for classes.

Yes I am going to focus more on calories this time. I should get nutrition help too. I know with my old weight loss plan there was no portion control which is prob why I gained the weight back.

Go with the one you believe will have the best chance of helping you achieve your work out goals.
Like others have said, only you can follow a diet that will help you attain your weight loss goals! No one can do that for you.
