Hi,

I've been using the Nutrition info to see if I'm eating enough calcium, iron, potassium ect. So far I haven't managed to get enough of these micro nutrients in a day. Is anyone else trying to reach these goals and how are you going with it?

Thanks

The database entries are mostly entered by MFP users, and since many don't track micronutrients and/or that information isn't always readily available for some foods, many (probably most) database entries are inaccurate when if comes to micronutrients.

If you want to accurately track micronutrients, I suggest checking whether the foods you are eating have accurate information in the database (check against other sources) and correcting the entries if they don't.

If after doing so, you are still finding you are under, then you can look at changing your diet to suit. (Also remember that the micronutrient goals MFP sets may not be appropriate for you as an individual.)

Thanks Madammags. I try to pick the most accurate food entries, but that is still the most likely issue. Seems impossible to get enough potassium! I'll find out what my personal nutritional requirements are too. Thanks for the advice :-)
