Hey all - taking a chance here, but I figure it's the chit-chat forum, so anything goes right? :D

Going to London in August, just wondering if anyone knows of a good cheap-ish place for 2 people to stay for 5 nights? Don't need much, but would be nice to eventually have a mini-kitchen to make some food, since that many days eating out would KILL my progress hehe.

Check out Airbnb.com it's nice sight if you don't want expensive hotels, and if the renter is nice you can end up with a great guide and a new friend.

Also, couchsurfing is not a bad idea if you want to meet people.

Yeah I had some great experiences with Airbnb while in Germany and Holland - I'm always nervous about the differences between the lovely pics and reality ;)

Gonna check out couchsurfing though - looks interesting!

I was going to Paris for a week earlier this year and my airbnb cancelled last minute on me. I got lucky with couchsurfing cause the guy I ended staying with was awesome and lived in the center of Paris, Eiffel tower one window and Notre Dame on the other.
