Coming back after starvation diet

So I did something stupid. I fell for a scam. My chiropractor 's office told me they had a great fat loss program and I thought it sounded awesome. I thought I was just going to eat healthy and take some supplements while getting support from their coach. So, I signed up with my husband and paid them a lot of hard earned money. I got my materials home and read them, only to find out that we were allowed about 500 calories a day. What?!?! I know better than to think this is healthy. I'm a paramedic. I know that people have to have electrolyte balance in order to maintain health. I've been on these diets before and promised I'd never do that to myself again. But I had paid them money. And after all, if I were such an expert on health, why did I have 20lbs to lose? So I did it. I took the drops and ate next to nothing for almost a week. I decided I had had enough when I almost fell asleep while standing up at work. I talked to my husband and he said he had also had enough. We decided to go with our tried and true weight loss and health method-good 'ol fitness pal. I guess we all learn lessons the hard way sometimes. But I'm asking all of you to help me out. Help me to be healthy. Not starving. Thanks in advance.

Ive tried the same diet.. FAIL. And yes, not healthy. But, leave it in the past. Ive also used the Isagenix program. While I did lose 10 lbs, I feel that substituting "real" food for shakes, bars, and limited choices are not going to keep me interested long enough. Ive decided this time its back to good old lower calorie intake, and MOVING MORE. Its what works for me, and I can eat better foods. I simply looked into 1200-1300 calorie plans. Cut down my carbs and dairy. Im on my second week. And Im feeling good about my choices and motivated to exercise. And Im not doing anything crazy- long walks with the dog, treadmill for 30 min, stationary bike, and I have a horse so I ride at least twice a week. At work, when Im standing around, I do knee lifts or march in place. Nope, dont care what I look like. lol! Im using an upcoming wedding in March for motivation as well. Not mine, but the thought of finding something nice to wear- I want to lose a good 20-25lbs. So, if you would like to add me as a friend, feel free. If not, I totally understand and good luck with your goals!
