So I found out why I was so hungry...

so for the last month I've been uncontrollably starving hungry and just eating eating eating, I only just looked at my macros over the last 6 weeks. On average I was eating less than 10% protein, where as I was eating around 40% fat and 50% carbs... That's terrible... What the hell was I doing XD

And it shows the days where I ate more protein, I ate around 300 less calories per 5% more protein I ate!0

Can I ask - was that animal protein that you upped to stop feeling hungry or vegetable and animal?
I ask because I often feel the same and thinking of upping my protein, but I don't eat animal produce. Thinking about vegan protein supps although they taste disgusting!0 -

Ah vegan I'm not sure! Im starting to eat a lot of tuna and eggs and things, although baked beans (and beans in general) tend to have a lot of protein, so maybe that's an option! I just googled a lot for options of food, spinach would be a good one! Just trial and error! Hopefully you can find something you can eat! X

I'd have to agree. If you don't eat dairy (greek yogurt is a good source), you need to look into beans, lentils--that family. Interestingly, just today an Italian nutritionist was talking about beans and they are better combined with pasta--it's better for your protein intake.0 -

If you don't want to use protein powder, have you tried beans, grains, seitan, tempeh, and tofu? They're all excellent protein sources.0 -

That's basically the beans and rice, peanut butter and whole grain bread theory, right? Legumes + grains make a whole protein source?
If you eat a number of different sources over the course of a day it shouldn't matter--I think the current thinking is to worry less about getting a complete source every time you eat it. But I always mean to eat more beans, so this is a nice idea/excuse!
Anyway, re the vegan protein source question, I find that beans in particular are filling for me as meat, likely because of all the fiber.0 -

I've seen this on TV here a couple of times. It's always mentioned rather quickly (like something EVERYBODY knows), and I always catch it on the fly. They are usually talking about how Italians ate in the past, especially in the country. They couldn't afford to eat much meat, so beans were a staple for protein. However, the protein absorption isn't complete without a carb--such as pasta, if I'm understanding it correctly. Pasta and beans (pasta fagioli) is a classic here. I made it for lunch today.0
