adding calories to MFP.

Sometimes I do not have over 1,000 calories on my diary, so I will add something to it. I feel as though I eat enough but sometimes burn alot of calories and feel full after dinner so I will just add something even if I do not eat it. Its not every day and I am getting better but does this happen to anyone else?

Why would you add the calories? What purpose does it serve?

If I don't MFP acts like a jerk.

If you're talking about it not liking when you try to click the Complete button on your diary for the day, just don't click the button. It doesn't do anything special other than give you the 5 week prediction, which is useless for most people.

Instead of adding random calories you should try to eat more; it gives you warnings for a reason. If you aren't hungry, it is likely because you are eating large volumes of nutrient dense foods. Try replacing some of that with calorie dense foods.

Doesn't happen to me but I try to make sure I eat close to my calorie goal. That warning is there for a very valid reason.

    This^

Unless you are incredibly petite, or a senior citizen 1,200 calories is the minimum you should eat (before exercise). This ensures adequate nutrition.

You put in your age, height, and weight.....and MFP gave you the number of calories to eat. Yet, MFP is "acts like a jerk" because they assume you want to be a healthy person.

Adequate nutrition fuels basic bodily functions.....heart, lungs, kidneys, stuff like that. Adequate nutrition isn't just high volume, low calories (ie: veggies).....adequate nutrition is protein and fats too. Many of those foods fall in the calorie dense category.

Having a low day once in awhile is fine but yes, overall, you should average 1200+.

What's the point of tracking if you just add random stuff you didn't eat? Personally if my diary isn't accurate I don't see the point in tracking at all. It's just useless information at that point and a waste of my time.

OK, I SAID GOT IT. Apparently I am the only one this happens too!! I have lost 94lbs, these last 10-15 are stuck, for months, it seems if I do cardio I have a hard time reaching the minimum, The point is MFP is lying!! Or I am a exception! Or... I am in starvation mode, or I am NUTS!! Its not ever day, my diary has a ton of calorie Dense food.
