Over the last three weeks, I have lost 0.6 lbs. Which, mind you, I'm not complaining at all because over those last three weeks I have lost over 17 inches across my body! I measure everything...O_O. Nonetheless, I'm curious if this is a plateau or just a normal steady weight loss at the moment since I had a big loss earlier this month & I started working out hard daily. I don't want to make any changes in my calorie intake unless I have to. So, I'm looking for some been there done that kinda things to compare and see what's out there and possibly going on. I'm assuming it's just muscle weight taking over for the fat, but I don't like to "assume". Here is the whole story:

6/6/13: 206 lbs (6/09 Measurements)
6/11/13: 201.8
6/17/13: 201.4 (6/18 started 30DS this day. Measurements have me down 9.4 inches across my body.)
6/24/13: 201.2 (6/23 Measurements have me down another 8.5 inches across my body.)

I'm 5'7.5". BF @ 41.5%. MFP set to lose 1.5 lbs a day with an alteration for more Protien[Which I barely ever reach 100g. Usually about 70g a day. =( ]. Calorie intake is 1380 Daily. Then I eat back my exercise points usually. I work out 365 Calories daily at the least. This is with 30DS. =) Never tried TDEE, don't know what it is. Heard about it but, never looked into it.

What I Measure(to give you a better idea. I'm not melting it off, just measure a lot of places): I take Chest, L Arm, R Arm, L Thigh, R Thigh, Waist, L Calf, R Calf, Hips, Butt, Shoulders, Neck, Gut.

Hope this is enough information.

Thank you all in advance for your personal experiences, advice, and opinions. =D <3

  • I'm no expert but i would assume that you are gaining muscle as you shed fat . Which would have your body getting smaller while losing very little to nothing and sometimes even gain a bit. But definitely don't stress about it measurements are much more accurate than the number on that silly scale anyways. I know its frustrating to not see the scale moving much (go through this myself from time to time) but 17 inches lost is a HUGE NSV !! Congrats girl !!

I would guess it would be due to a decrease of bloating possibly with a tiny tiny bit of muscle. 30DS is not a muscle building routine and eating at a deficit will not allow you to put on much muscle outside of a lb or two when you first begin lifting.

Or you have lost fat but the scale doesn't show due to water weight...

Are you sure your measuring in the exact same spots? Same tightness of the measuring tape? etc?

Hehe I'm not complaining. Just curious if it's a normal reaction to inches lost. =) Thank you all for your replies and opinions. =) I am measuring same place same consistent tightening. I have definitely lost the inches. My profile has a progress pic, but I know it's set private, let me see if I can put it up in here...

Are you measuring everyday right when you get up and after hitting the bathroom.

That would usually account for any water weight fluctuations....

your math is wrong, you haven't lost 0.6 lbs you have lost 4.8 lbs.

    206 - 201.2 = 4.8

bearing in mind it wont be all fat you've lost but also water weight and some muscle, 0.28 lbs per inch is probably about right

 I was speaking of the 0.6lbs. O_O But, I now see your point! :flowerforyou: Thank you for pointing out that this little 0.6 has only been a two week instance. Not three. Perhaps I am infact over thinking this. Thank you kind sir.

    Edit: Typos and stuff.
