Just signed myself up to my first triathlon next May. What a goal to aim for 500m swim 25k bike ride and 10k run

    Lots of programs that you pick, on your abilities now. If this is your first from a position of it being a significant challenge, you may want to train to complete not compete.

    Hopefully you can do each leg individually to a fair degree without your heart rate going near max.

    Are you sure it is a 25K run and not a 25M?

    Most Sprint Triathlons are 25M but anything can be laid out.

    Once you do the individual legs, then you do brick workouts of shorter lengths of two legs to get used to transitions and the weirdness of running after a bike ride.

    Make sure whatever program you follow teaches you to manage your body/heart rate. It gets to be about pacing your swim for a good ride, the not cooking your legs or cardio capacity so you have a good run. Body management.

    Congrats on taking the challenge. You may get the bug and never go back!
