I'm new to this exercise and was following a exercise routine. It started hurting a bit at the end but I thought a little pain, gaining muscle, I can do this!
Now after a few days the back of my arms are killing me( behind my elbow and up.)..Mainly one side but I can feel it in both. Probably overworked it, but could I have bruised my muscle? lol

What kind of dips? Dips on parallel bars or dips where you have your arms behind you on a bench, box, or safety bars? Where was the pain during the exercise? Shoulder? Triceps? Describe the pain during the exercise? Did it feel like something is wrong? You really shouldn't feel pain during an exercise, though post exercise soreness can be expected especially when you're just starting or doing something new.0

Arms behind and on a kitchen chair. I don't feel like anything is horribly wrong. Just feel like my whole muscle is bruised. Pain was not horrible while working out. Just felt burny and like I was really working it. I can definitely feel it when I extend my arm.0 -

You describing it as feeling like a bruised muscle makes me think it is typical soreness related to doing a brand new exercise. Pain, in my experience, feels more sharp/shooting/stabby and is more likely due to hurting yourself somehow.0 -

It's called "delayed onset muscle soreness" (DOMS) and it's nothing to worry about. It happens most frequently when you start a new routine or change something in your existing one. If you keep going, it will lessen or stop entirely. Don't use it as a reason to stop!0 -

If it felt like burning during then that's more than likely fine and the soreness you're feeling is just from doing new exercise.0
