Baked goods are my destruction

I like to bake. And for about 60 days, I was doing really well on MFP. Exercising, staying in budget, good stuff. However, when I eat where I just have to "guess" the calories, such as eating out or baking, I lose motivation to continue counting at all. So, I haven't really been counting the last two weeks or so. And the cold weather makes me want nice warm cookies, fresh from the oven! Any suggestions?

Hi! I haven't been on the site it a while and just logged back in this week. I see that the recipe tab has a new function where you can link the url to a site and it fills in all the ingredients/ calculates calories for you (double check it though. I had one recipe it left a couple ingredients off of). Have you tried that? If you are baking from a cookbook, you can still log in all the ingredients manually... it just takes a little while. I love love love the recipe function. Most of the food I eat is stuff that I cook at home regularly and I've found it to be so helpful!

Make your cookies and read the calorie information beforehand. Then budget them into your day. If you have baked goods without calorie information, google the closest thing to them online and see what the general consensus is. It won't be as accurate but it's better than not trying at all.

ETA I agree with the above comment too, the recipe function is awesome
