This isn't a "what should I do!" post, because I don't really care that I went over probably once in the last ... what? month... But, my point is.... I didn't really eat that much ... and was over by 800+ calories (or about 400+ over my maintenance limit).
I had
Brunch - homemade biscuits and gravy with sausage
Dinner -about 2/3 order of sweet and sour chicken with fried rice
Sonic - rootbeer float (my husband cannot get it through his head to please if he is going to order me something order a SMALL!)
1 Oreo
That's is. All day. And it was WAY over my calories. And it's really probably WAY less than most people are used to eating on a day to day basis - no wonder we all gain weight!?!

I know what you mean...sometimes I just cringe when I think about what I might have eaten, if I wasn't tracking my calories here. I have really been "good" since starting on MFP in January, with just a few "falling off the wagon" experiences. But it is scary to think what will happen if I ever stop logging....0

I had one of those days today - ate my lunch and then logged it and realised the few crisps and the biscuit i thought i could add in without too much damage brought that meal alone to over 700cal!! Oops, i'm on starvation rations for my dinner now! New rule = always log it before I eat it!
I wouldn't worry too much though, I've heard so many people on here saying that this isn't a diet but more a way of life and I'd agree with that mentality. Of course there are going to be days when things go a little pear shaped or even when you just think sod it and eat what you want but it's the getting back into the saddle the next day that really matters. Realistically there's few of us who'll be able to deny themselves the tasty stuff every one in a while - don't do it every day but don't beat yourself up over the odd slip!0 -
Second that. It always amazes the posters who say, "I had a really hard time eating all my calories"! And I think WTF??? I'd be over every day if I didn't log what I'm eating.0

OMG I know! I was over on my calories the other day and it was packed with veggies and good things! I thought my homemade dinner salad was a low cal option, but it turned out to be about 750 calories total. Gahhh....
Ok, confession, almost good things. The Sonic commercial was advertising their hot fudge sundae and I sent the hubs out thinking it wouldn't take me over too much....440 calories for a small!! :mad:0 -
Oh, and cbirdso, I know what you mean!! I could eat all my calories for BREAKFAST if I wasn't paying attention!! :laugh:0
