Sprained/broken toe

So I had a bad moment yesterday and pulled too hard on a metal drawer that usually gets stuck. Needless to say the whole drawer came out and landed on my second and third toes. I believe I may have sprained or broken my toe(s). Previous to this I had been running 5 miles and training for a 10k. Obviously this has been put on hold. My question is for how long? I'm already itching to get back out - runner's high anyone. Ugh just frustrating. Anyone had a similar experience?

Yup! I'm still trying to work through a sprained wrist. I just got back into the gym. I love to lift weights, so went straight at it. Too much, too soon. Seems to be taking forever to heal up, probably been 4-5 weeks already. Hang in there. It's better to let it heal appropriately than to rush it and make it worse. Have you been to the doctor? Had an x-ray? It's frustrating, but you'll be back at the running eventually. Sadly things don't always go as we plan

I sprained my foot in August and I broke my pinky toe on Labor Day....I still get the occasional twinge....but I was back to basically normal in about a month. Just listen to your body. You will feel immediate pain if your feet/toes are still hurt and you push too much. I would definitely take it easy and try to keep off the foot as much as possible for this week. I tried "working through" the sprain with the foot and ended up making it worse.
