really new to this. I am 29 yo. I had my 3rd baby this June. I also had my thyroid removed at the end of August. I'm having s terrible time loosing weight. Trying to do low carb. I don't get much excercise but I try to run a mile at least 1 x a week. I'm at 163 but really would like to get down to 130! I'm 5'4". anyone else with a nonexistent thyroid?

Hi. I had my thyroid removed 10 years ago. Everyone says it makes it harder to lose weight, but I'm not sure if that's the problem or lack of willpower/ love of junk food.

I hope not. All I've heard has been negative things. I sure hope I can loose. They just upped my dose of synthroid from 112 to 125. My levels were low normal about 2 wks ago.

Welcome to MFP. Stick to the recommended calories (you'll earn more through exercise) and you'll lose weight. Good luck!
