30 lbs. Over & Strongly Dislike Veggies :(

I've always been 10 lbs. over my "goal" weight (ideal weight for my height). But in the last 3 years I've packed on 20 more. It was honestly easier to loose after each child than its been these last two years. MFP, WW...nothing seems to work (likely because I'm not giving it enough of a chance.)
The kicker is... I hate vegetables. With the exception of 2-3 I don't despise, I honestly can't stand them. So when I read article after article about them being the linchpin of any good food regime, and how not to diet but rather change your lifestyle for good, I think "I'm screwed."
I've never stopped exercising (running, T25) but that doesn't help me loose. I'm going to give MFP another shot, but it feels like an exercise in futility. But we'll see.
Thanks for listening!

What are the couple of veggies that you do like? And are there some that you can kind of tolerate?
To be perfectly blunt you probably are in a spot of bother if you just don't want to include them in your diet. Aside from filling you up with out filling you out, there are so many nutrients that you're missing out on.
Do you have troubles with veggies cooked into dishes? Maybe have a look at sneaking them into things.
If you like smoothies, try chucking a couple of spinach leave in. And if it's a chocolate smoothie you won't even notice the colour! And I promise you have to add A LOT before you can notice the taste.
I love this recipe, maybe it could help you out?
1/2 frozen banana
1 cup milk of choice (cow, almond, soy, whatever)
1 serve protein powder (optional if we're going for veggies here )
1 tablespoon peanut butter
1 teaspoon maple syrup
a handful of baby spinach leaves (start with just a couple, but add more as you get more confident)
Water or more milk as required if you like a thinner consistency.
Chuck everything into a blender there you have it.0 -
So I've been doing a chocolate protein shake every morning for breakfast. Putting in a few baby spinach leaves and something I could totally live with!0

You don't HAVE to eat vegetables if you really don't want to. All you really need to do to lose weight is lower your calories. You don't have to change the type of food you eat, just the quantity.0

Correct. To make the number on the scale go down, vegetables aren't necessary. If you have other health goals, building a nutrient dense diet might be important, in which case, find vegetables you like, and explore new ways to enjoy them.
Public schools soggy vegetables ruined them for many. Start over!0 -
Sounds like me lol0
