I have quite an abdominal separation. I know I'm not the only one...right Mamas? Has anyone tried any of the healing methods? The MuTu or Tupler Method? I can't believe that I've been harming my separation by doing crunches and planks. I even have an umbilical hernia. Any advice would be welcome. THANKS!!!

I have not had this issue but I have read good things about the Tupler Method.

Breaking Muscle also has a series about diastasts recti: http://breakingmuscle.com/womens-fitness/12-weeks-of-workouts-to-rebuild-after-diastasis-recti

I would connect with a physiotherapist or someone else trained in DR for help with healing it.

Mine was separated by over 4 in; you could have put a fist in my wonder weird divet. I did a lot of exercises that focused on the trans abs and general core. I remember being told to stay away from crunches etc until the muscles came back together.
Eventually when I was completely done with babies I had a tummy tuck because of massive saggy skin. I carry my kids straight out and i have poor elasticity in my skin. The Doc sewed my abs together while he was in there......holy crap that recovery was painful. It took over a year for my abs to feel right. But again I had a massive separation
