I am having trouble. I am trying to avoid the scales. I used to weigh like 4 or 5 times a day. Yes I know bad. I have now limited myself to 1 time Friday mornings. However I have tried measuring myself and I swear I am doing it correct but It doesn’t seem consistent. Is there a measuring for dummies lol. Or any tips? Thanks!

for me, an inch higher or lower on the body gives a lot different number. I honestly have a written 'picture' that I use to try and match up to remember where each number was and I do several extra numbers... like above belly button, belly button.. below, hips... (can you tell where my major issue is).

Measuring yourself with a tape seems like a good way to get the answer you want. I would need a constant tension tape and some pen marks on my skin for repeatability.

Same here! My measurements are labeled like:

"arm at droopiest part of bat wing"
    "gunt"
    "at belly button"
    "thighs at that weird freckle"

basically just having really specific spots you measure at helps me a lot. Also doing it in front of a mirror so when I'm doing the ones like my waist, belly button, butt etc I can look in the mirror to make sure the tape is sitting evenly on my skin all the way around and not drooping or anything, if that makes sense.
