Why does this happen?

I have lost 20 pounds and am at my halfway mark. Somedays I wake up feeling thinner and other days feel heavier. Look that way too.
Ive noticed this before in the past when losing weight. I know sodium plays a part in that...but im not gaining. Not even an ounce.

When I weighed 130 at 5'5 In the summer I would go up a size even. Humidity? Summer swelter?

Do you ever have these days?

Sounds like water weight. Unless you're standing on a scale 24 hours a day, you don't know that your weight isn't fluctuating. You'd be an exceedingly rare individual if it didn't.

Some people hold more water weight than others and it fluctuates. My hubby and oldest daughter are this way. If they restrict calories, bam, they'll lose 4-5 pounds in a week(mostly water) and I'll lose 1 1/2 total. Also, keep in mind this can change by how much you've eaten and salt like you mentioned.

    I agree..and know this.
I know im not a special snowflake.

I weigh in the mornings only. So I am not seeing fluctuations...well in a few days. Ive stayed the same..then the scale will show a loss. Its how my body works.

But what I meant was, why somedays you feel bigger and look bigger and other days you are the opposite. Its really water?

Fluid. Mostly water, yes. It's certainly not fat, muscle, or bone.

Thanks for the reply. I know it's not bone.
I'm not exercising and haven't in a while so maybe that is playing a part as well.
