Better to wear your fitness tracker/HRM all day and or just for workouts? Just wondering what everyone does to keep track of calories in/out :)

a fitness tracker is meant to be worn for the day as they generally count steps and activity level.

Thanks! I specifically have a polar watch. Just wondering if that would be a good thing to wear all day to see how many calories burned total in a day or if should just continue wearing for workouts only.

    This^

A heart rate monitor is the thing that's specific to steady state cardio workouts.

Depending upon your tracker (brand) you may be able to sync it to MFP. That way the tracker can compare your stated activity level and your actual activity level. Set the tracker to enable negative adjustments, that way if you do not meet your stated activity level, MFP will take calories away (keeps you honest).

Look under the Apps Menu.....Polar is there

You can get specifics about your brand (and model).

The beauty of an activity tracker (worn all day) is it tells you if your activity level is correct. The will be very helpful when you get to maintenance.

Let's say you work out 1 hour a day....the activity tracker also gives you data regarding the other 23 hours.

Fitness tracker yes, Heart rate sensor, no, only pair it when exercising. your Polar activity tracker will track your calories by how active you are.
