I'm trying not to use so much sodium...
I just don't like flavorless food

I rely a lot on fresh ginger, garlic, citrus (especially the peel), Thai red curry paste, sriracha and salsa for marinade bases.0

Balsamic vinegar is my best friend in the kitchen. I also like to use lime juice with a little hot sauce. Learning to use various herbs and spices is very helpful in a low-sodium kitchen. If you have gotten used to eating a lot of processed foods it may take a while to make the adjustment and really begin tasting the subtle flavors of seasoning combinations. Try a pinch of unsweetened cocoa powder in any tomato-based dish for an added depth of flavor.0

Yes - fresh herbs are wonderful. Cilantro, rosemary and basil are easily obtained and very flavor assertive.0

I love to marinade my meats.
I mix some oil with garlic, turmeric and chilli powder to rub in to beef. Mix oil with herbs for turkey and chicken.
Play around with what you have in, you really can't go wrong0 -
Cumin and turmeric have been 2 spices I've been playing with recently.
Cumin seems to go with most meats, and I've been trying out some dry rub mixtures with it. I need to plan better on marinate time though.
Last night I made a 3000g finished batch of stir fry and quinoa seasoned with 2 tbsp butter, 1tbsp turmeric, 1 tbsp ginger, a small 1/3 tsp cayenne pepper, and 1 tbsp salt. I could have gone much easier on the salt.0 -

I love cilantro, rosemary and flat leaf (italian) parsley! I am also big on chili powder, cumin and cajun seasoning.
I also have a problem with Lawry's seasoned salt, but that would not be a good option for reducing sodium.0 -
Get an all purpose grinder. Some have like 20 different types of herbs/spices in it. I use mine for everything - eggs, meat, pasta, etc. I almost never add salt to my food.0

Flank steak: Carne Asada Marinade or Ginger and Soy (low sodium works)
Chicken: Grilled Chicken Marinade or Kraft Zesty Italian dressing
Pork: Soy Dijon or Chili Lime0
