Hard time keeping Sodium under 2500mg when I travel for work

Hi,

I'm a 30 year old cargo pilot and I spend about 17 days per month in hotels away from home.

My issue is that I try to eat a lot of protein since I'm on a weight lifting program right now, but am finding that there are grams and grams of salt that come with any sort of meat I find in restaurants.

For instance, today I am stuck in a hotel that has a few restaurants within walking distance (Chick Fil A and Wendy's) and a convenience store. I got some cottage cheese and crackers at the convenience store for breakfast and a later snack then figured I would eat some chicken from chick-fil-a for dinner. This puts me at only 1535 calories but 6375mg of sodium! Granted I'm doing a lot of cardio and probably sweat out a half gallon, but I wonder if I can sustain these sodium levels long term.

Last time I checked my blood pressure it was 128/70.

Does anyone have any thoughts or advice? Am I pretty much SOL on sodium when eating at restaurants?

I can bring my own food a day or two, but considering most of my trips last about 2 weeks it's just not possible.

    I work food service. While it's not possible to do this at say, a pizza joint, it's pretty normal for someone to put in a request that their meat not be salted or to skip other things like ketchup.
