Constantly going to the restroom!!

I'm drinking about 4-6 bottles of water everyday...
I'm going to the restroom to urine like literally every 15-20mins maybe even less time than that sometimes! And I'm supposed to drink 8 glasses of water everyday?? I can only imagine how much I'll go to the restroom with 8bottles. Is this something my body will adjust to??

I drink a lot of water too. About 72-96 ounces per day. And have to pee hourly it seems. But since it is 150 steps round trip from my office to the ladies I am cool with it.0

I drink 2L a day which is my recommended amount, been doing it for years, and I pee roughly every half hour, sometimes more, sometimes less. I don't think my body is ever going to 'adjust' to it with the effect that I have to pee less often, which is annoying.0

You get water from food and non-water beverages. If you are going to the bathroom that much and don't like it then drink less water, unless you have other symptoms and then go see a doctor.0

4 bottles would be 8 servings of 8oz. I do 2-4 a day and have to pee constantly, plus I drink a lot of tea and coffee, so yeah. I'm up probably twice at night too, even though I don't really drink much after 7:00 at night. Maybe a cup of cocoa.0

I got like that when I was trying to drink 64oz per day. With the type of work i do, running to the bathroom every half hour just doesn't fly. I don't keep myself to a set amount of fluid anymore. As long as pee is a light color, I know I'm hydrated.0

It's normal initially, but should stable off as your body gets adjusted to it.0
-
Yup I drink a 96oz bottle during the work day. Luckily, my supervisor is a "fitchick" and understands my struggle lol0

I am literally ALWAYS in the bathroom. The cleaning lady at work is probably like: 'seriously, lady' lol. It starts that way at first but should ease up a bit once your body adjusts. I don't know how many ounces are in your 'bottles' (4* 12oz, maybe??). I have cut back some. I get in about 30oz at work and the rest in the morning when I work out and at home. Good to stay hydrated!0

Yep, that's me too! Always in the bathroom. I drink 48 oz. of water daily and 24 oz. of decaf tea. I also drink 20 oz. of Diet Coke (I know, it's not really good for me), and usually 12 oz. of Minute Maid Lite 5. That adds up to 114 oz. a day. I'm operating on one kidney, so I need to keep things flowing.0

The recommendation is usually 64 oz of fluid a day but how much you need is more individual.Generally, if you drink enough fluid so that you rarely feel thirsty and your urine is colorless or light yellow — and measures about 6.3 cups (1.5 liters) or more a day if you were to keep track — your fluid intake is probably adequate. There may be another reason we've stuck with an inaccurate eight cups -- and that answer isn't nearly so straight forward: the right amount of water to drink is the amount that quenches your thirst.
"When you think about the way that the body handles water, you pee it out. The body regulates water very carefully and doesn't allow it to accumulate. Extra water is immediately excreted," says Dr. Stanley Goldfarb, a professor of medicine at University of Pennsylvania and an expert on fluid management.
So if you are urinating every 15-20 minutes and don't have a medical issue you are probably drinking a lot more water than your body needs.
I wouldn't worry about drinking so much water.
I drink water with each meal and then I just drink fluids to my thirst level. My urine is pretty light colored so I think I am pretty good on that amount.0 -
I have a 32 ounce cup that I fill twice daily at work, more in the summer (AZ summers are brutal), plus a 24 oz coffee in the morning, and whatever liquid I drink at night (usually water haha). Yes, you will pee constantly when you start drinking more water, but it will level off.0

I don't think it's necessary to push that much water. I asked my doctor and she was like "no, that's excessive and doesn't help; drink what you are thirsty for."0
-
if you are peeing too much drink less, if you are thirsty or your pee is dark drink more. It is pretty simple really. I don't track my water intake, never have (it is mostly useless anyways, as many fruits have a lot of water content). I may get dehydrated once in a long while, but I know it and I'll go drink some water.0

Best to get it checked out with a doc, as very frequent urination could be a sign of diabetes.
But if you're healthy, then yeah, maybe drink less water? You don't really need that much -- you just need to stay hydrated.0 -

It's also a sign of pregnancy. I actually thought I was diabetic when I got pregnant with my first because I was peeing so much.0 -
It happens to me when I'm dropping water weight, so it's normal to an extent, but if it lasts longer than a day or two, you definitely need to get it checked out.0

6 bottles seems like too much (assuming they are 16oz bottles). Also maybe on top of the water you are also drinking coffee/tea which would add to your liquid intake. For me personally 4 bottles is enough water and at the same time doesn't make me pee too much.
If I go below 4, I get a bunch of issues so I try to keep it at 4.5 max (which includes all liquids).0 -
Consider that you might be drinking too much water.
I drink 4-6 eight ounces of water a day depending of the food and other fluids I am drinking.

Adjust your intake by pee colour. Anything darker than light straw coloured - drink more
If your pee runs clear - drink less, it's straining your kidneys.
If you find you are drinking so much because you are thirsty - see a doctor.0 -
I drink a lot of water, but no matter how much I drink, I always have to pee, I have the bladder capacity of an old woman, so I feel your pain. However, 4 to 6 bottles is not 4 to 6 glasses. If each bottle holds 16 fluid ounces, you're taking in 64 to 96 fluid ounces, or 8 to 12 glasses per day. If those bottles are larger, then yeah, I could imagine why you're going to the bathroom that frequently! LOL. Figure out the bottle size and try to lower your intake a bit.0
