Start slow and remember there is nothing wrong with walking! One of the most famous marathon coaches (Jeff Galloway) promotes the run-walk-run method. Also, I highly recommend the C25K program. It is a great way to start! I started running 2 years ago for the first time in my life and now have completed 2 half marathons. Best of luck!0

take it slow
try a structured program to get you back up to speed and to help you not do too much too soon and avoid injury
I'm sure with cross country in you past, you know that the right shoes are essential. go to a running store and get a gait analysis and fitted for proper shoes.
I think running 3mi starting from not running in a long time might be a bit ambitious. I might shoot more for the new years.0 -
could be. depends on a lot of factors like your speed and fitness level0
