Drink two teaspoons daily mixed in half cup of water, the health benefits are well worth it! Google benefits of Apple Cider Vinegar.

Nothing but snake oil and woo. There is nothing magical that happens when apple cider spoils. However, ACV DOES make a really good hot bacon dressing for spinach.

    Mmmm... tell me more!

I agree...there is absolutely no evidence to suggest that ACV has weight loss or health benefits. The acid will weaken your tooth enamel, though.

Personally, I haven't tried it but after it was suggested to me I read about it and spoke to a nutritionist who has researched it and the benefits are well worth it. He also stated you have to drink a lot of water afterwards for protection of esophagus and tooth enamel. I was curious if anyone here had tried it..I also put it on my spinach salad! :-)

An apple cider vinegar / bentonite clay paste is working better to stop the itching from poison ivy than Cortizone-10 or Gold Bond. (Hot water works even better but the water in my shower is only hot enough to stop the itching on my arm, not my stomach or leg.)

Apple cider vinegar / bentonite clay paste is great for skin barnacles (Seborrheic Keratosis) as well.

I make it "by guess and by golly" (you can find actual recipes online) but I make it by frying up a few strips of bacon, remove and crumble them, and add a few spoonfuls of sugar and ACV to the hot bacon grease and stir until the sugar is dissolved. Pour warm over fresh spinach that has been tossed with red onion and sliced hard cooked eggs. Top with the bacon.

    Oh a "nutritionist" told you?

You realize that anyone can call themselves a nutritionist, right? The title is about as meaningful as "life coach"

If it's only a few spoonfuls why don't you just skip the drama of drinking it by itself and make a recipe with a few spoonfuls in it?

I take a tablespoon or two of it to help with heartburn, but not for weight loss. Calorie deficits are for weight loss.

Along with fresh spinach, red onion and sliced hard boiled eggs, it does sound incredibly healthy. And well-balanced. Context matters.

As for apple cider vinegar - there are no benefits for weight loss. It's an oft-repeated old wives' tale with no basis in fact.

I love ACV! I use it for my hair (mix it with henna and also to strip styling products out of it after the salon). I also use it in a variety of ways on my skin - someone mention mixing it with bentonite clay which is a great combo, I also add it to raw honey which makes my skin feel great afterwards. I use it frequently in cooking as well. I keep a bottle in my kitchen and a bottle in my bathroom. love when a product is versatile!!!

My mom used to make something very similar for us, but she also included water chestnuts (they absorb the dressing so they don't taste like dirt). Yummy!

PubMed, a database of health-related research maintained by the National Institutes of Health, is a good place
to start research when you hear of some new health fad.

I used the search string [apple cider vinegar weight loss] and found exactly TWO results:
    http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/?term=apple+cider+vinegar+weight+loss

One talks about tooth enamel erosion.

It's also a good idea to use the search function here on MFP.
There have been many many many threads about "ACV", and many people have posted many links to many articles
discussing the woo, and how it's basically useless as a dietary aid, as least in re weight loss.

I am a big fan of apple cider vinegar. And gingerroot. And cardamom.

Now you all know most of my "secret" ingredients in my recipes. But just drinking it on its own? I dunno... sounds like woo until I've seen peer-reviewed study data.
