how often do i change my settings?

When my weight goes down should I change my settings to give me new calorie goals? If so how regular does everyone else change theirs?

If you do the "Guided Settings", they automatically go down as your weight does. If you customize them yourself, MFP will prompt you to change your settings after each 10 lb you lose.

They don't always automatically go down. Go to your settings, and make an adjustment, like change from losing one pound to maintenance. Hit save. Then change back. It will recalculate your calories. You should do this about every 5 to 10 lbs.

    Thank you :)

I use the app and very rarely use the site. I lost 18lbs and did not get a prompt or automatic adjustment. I had to go into my starting weight and adjust it to my new weight then it popped up with a prompt offering to readjust my calories because I had lost over 10 lbs

I mess with my settings too often to have MFP ever suggest adjusting anything. Next week is a maintenance week (business travel), so it'll reset my 10lb countdown. With 7lb to go and 12 tops I doubt MFP will adjust it for me ever.

I guess I will have to keep an eye on it and adjust accordingly from the sound of it :) Thanks everyone

I adjust every 10lb lost and it's been working very well for me.
