working out

I'm training for 2 marathons with "Team In Training" this fall and I'm doing a lot of cardio training. I also like to mix in weight machines when I go to the gym. I've been doing cardio, machines, and then abs. Is this the correct order to work out? Someone recently told me that I should do machines first, but couldn't tell me why. Any advice with an explanation is most appreciated.

I have been told by my trainer that it is best to do strength first then cardio. He says your body gets in a burning mode and doing cardio after strength burns more calories.0

Depends on your goals. If it's endurance, cardio first. If it's muscle building, strength train first.0

Strength first, then cardio. Lifting weights burns carbs & sugar where cardio specifically just burns calories, and also strength before cardio makes the cardio more effective. That's what the personal trainer at my gym said. :happy:0
