I am running my third 10K on the Fourth of July. I'm interested to know what kind of schedule you follow the week before a 10K. Last year, I trained too hard the week before and it killed my PR. I want to make sure I do it right this time, so that my hard work won't go to waste this year! Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Run the same days you normally run but cut your mileage in half or more.
Do all runs at easy pace the 5 days before the race.
Do some strides after a couple of the easy runs.
The day before take a rest day or run easy and short.
If you can, get 8 hours of sleep every night and eat at maintenance.
If you do all that you should be feeling pretty good on race morning.0
