Question about banking my cals

Hello all! So I've been banking some cals since Sunday for tonight's date night. I banked 827 which include some excercise cals. My question is, should I only use half? I like to add it to my diary as "bank" so I don't go into negatives. Thx!

Why would you only use half?

If you're logging correctly, including exercise burns, then eat as much of it as you want.

You know, the whole "only eat half of your exercise cals". Yep, I log and weigh everything and my Fitbit calculates my activity level and exercise.

It just depends on whether you've learned what your actual burns are. After a couple months of eating a portion back and adjusting, I was able to determine the correct burns and since then have eaten 100% back. If you've done this too, then eat them all if you want. If you haven't, and are still eating only half because of inaccuracies, then I would be hesitant to eat them all.

ETA: MFP is designed for you to be able to eat them all back. The "eat a portion" rule is due to inaccuracy in their calories burned estimations.

I've had weeks where I'd eat all of my exercise burn and have lost. Then I'd have weeks where I haven't eaten them all and did not lose. And then vice versa. It's so up and down that it's hard to really know I guess. I've been on track since August, have lost 15lbs.

Sounds like it's pretty accurate then. I'd just go and enjoy.

And some weeks you won't lose as that's just the nature of weight loss. Mine came off on the scale about every 3 weeks but averaged out to what I wanted it to weekly. My measurements changed by the week though.

Go, Enjoy. Have a wonderful time. :)

Don't be surprised if you have some added water weight in the morning though. That's the norm with eating a higher than usual calorie meal. Doesn't mean you've gained fat.

Thanks! You're right.. Don't want to over think this all. I don't get many date nights lol. ❤️
