Has anyone gotten very off calculations from the "everyday like today" estimator at the bottom of your completed food diaries ? Mine says I am going to gain 13 lbs in the next five weeks lollll. if I gained 13 lbs I would be the heaviest I've ever been in my life ! Not to mention I'm actually losing at this rate and that seems absurd. Anyway, let me know if this calculator has been accurate for you !

But did you go over? It's accurate in that if you ate exactly the same and did the exact same exercise every day for the next 5 weeks (in short, have exactly the same deficit) then the outcome is entirely predictable. But you won't. It's generally agreed to be meaningless but some people like it. It should only be saying you'll gain if you weren't in a deficit today.

It is too vague, and it deals with too many variables and unknowns. It is definitely not accurate. And yet, I do like it. I use it as a reminder that if I keep making good choices, I could be where I should be in a short amount time.

Look at it as an indicator of how well you did today. If you are over your maintenance cals it will show a gain. If you are at a deficit it will show a loss. If you are spot on, it will show the loss you are aiming for. It's based on math and does guess about what YOU will do tomorrow!
