20 minutes may be okay for now. Or take a break and start again. The benefits add up as though you did it without a break

The body will adapt, if one is consistent. Many people who restart diet and exercise will always feel the dread.

Most people would find exercise tiring if they were carrying 90lbs of extra weight.

Keep on keeping on and it will get better.

Does it actually hurt or is it uncomfortable?

Sitting on the couch is comfortable.
    Exercising is uncomfortable.
Hurt and pain are signals from your body saying that something is wrong.

Understanding discomfort and pain is extremely important in developing sustainable exercise habits. Accept that discomfort is part of the process. You are uncomfortable for a relatively small moment of time (during exercise). The reward for suffering this discomfort is strength and endurance. If you're not willing to deal with even a small amount of discomfort your progress will be severely limited. Please understand that I'm not at all suggesting that you should torture yourself. I'm saying that pushing yourself involves discomfort.

Real pain means there's a problem that needs to be addressed by backing off the routine and/or seeing a physician.

And that's the beauty of exercising, for many. To push your body further than you did the week before, to get stronger and in better shape. The expression "no pain no gain" comes to mind. Good pain, not injury pain. You need to know the difference.

I'm still waiting to hear what exercise we're talking about. Walking? Running? Hammer curls?
