I keep going over my sugars

I have been doing this for about 5 weeks now and I have lost about 15 pounds, I am 5'8" and 19 years old. I have been tracking my calories closely and I work out 4-6 times a week depending on the week. I always seem to go over my allowed sugars even though I don't go over my calorie intake. Most of these sugars are coming from fruit. Any suggestions? Advice?

Ignore the sugar settings or remove them completely. They're meant to help you realize how much processed sugars you're eating, and also help diabetics be more cognizant, but if you don't fall into those categories, then just ignore it. Fruit are great, and as long as you're not eating 20 helpings of it, you'll be okay. Congrats on your progress! Obviously you're doing something right!0

Sugar is just a carb. As long as you're eating enough fats and protein, your carbs/sugar aren't particularly important unless you have a medical issue that requires carbs/sugar to be monitored.
However, it should be noted that fructose and sucrose can only be stored as liver glycogen and not muscle glycogen. The liver can hold 100-120g glycogen so anything more than that will be converted to triglycerides. As long as you still have a calorie deficit this will even out. Just try to make most of your carbs glucose and not sucrose or fructose. Fructose in particular has been shown to decrease exercise performance, increased likelihood of gastrointestinal distress, and increase perception of exertion.
Here are some studies:

As long as you're under your calorie goal, you'll lose weight. Some people find that sugar (even from fruit) causes them to have more sugar/carb cravings so keep that in mind.

Remove the setting, problem solved. It worked for me.0

I changed my sugar setting to Fiber. I'm not much of an added sugar person since I quit drinking coffee, so I know that the majority of sugar I'm ingesting is from fruit. And that totally cool with me!0

Don't trip chocolate chip, sugar is fine as long as you don't go over your carb goal0

In my opinion the MFP setting is too low. I increased my to 50, with the exercise I do I usually don't go over now. I do 2-3 servings of fruit a day. For the first few weeks of using MFP I following things blindly. Do your research, and if what you've been doing has been working, ignore it. Great job on your loss of 15lbs in 5 weeks, that is impressive.0

SO true. If I have too many sugars, I can't seem to stop eating them. Fruit sugars don't seem to affect me as bad as processed sugar, but those cravings are INTENSE.0 -
So glad I read this thread!0

don't eat any processed/added sugars, eat fruit, and take away the setting that keeps track of that.0
