What would cause my at to start being sluggish? Should I uninstall and trying reinstalling? And if I do will I lose any data that has been saved?

11/16/15 I observed that myfitnesspal has become progressively worse since underarmor has bought the app a few months back. They started changing a very useful program at the next day. I am now waiting for an input to register until I am grey in my face and I beat on my ipad screen until my finger hurts, which obviously doesn't help a thing.
I have installed it for the 3rd time now within a few days - under different names and passwords because once you delete, you will not be accepted under your previous name any more. You WILL loose all your data - but does it matter? You want to control your daily/weekly intake. Do you really need to know what happened months ago? My impression (for the lawyers: I said IMPRESSION) : they want to force their professional version (available for money only) and discourage using the free version. If that really is so, it will backfire because people try the free version before they buy. And I would not want to buy the pro version now. It could be just as bad! And would you get your money back?
I will have to search for another free calorie counter - too bad because I really liked their app - until recently0 -
Same issue here, app has seemed very sluggish all of a sudden in the last few days. Every tape takes a couple seconds to register. Very annoying.0

I am the one with the lengthy complaint up there. I have good news for all of you. I have installed newly (under a different name and loosing all my data) but they have taken care of the problem. The software works slightly different now but is fast and reliable. Once you check marked a new entry on the top right you may have to push down your key board if it is still up on screen. You find then "add one". Once you do that: swish - your entry is in the right place. No hesitation no sluggishness any more. Had to say that to be fair after my first complaint!0

@kaphingstw, the reason you lost your data is because when you reinstalled you signed in under a different name, OR you deleted your account altogether before you reinstalled. You should reinstall and just log in as your original name, not start a new account. Uninstalling the app doesn't make your data go away.0
