Weight lost or not?

I'm on "lose a pound" a week program.. so this morning I weighed the same (slightly less) as I did a week ago, but then this afternoon I actually weighed 2 lbs less. When do I know whether I should update my profile and change how much I weigh with these fluctuations? Losing a lb would make sense since I have been in a deficit and exercising..

I log all my lowest weights.

Do it based on the time you weigh in. I weigh every morning after evacuating my bladder/bowels. I track daily, update MFP weekly. Weight is constantly fluctuating. I weigh less in the morning than I do at night, so that is when I weigh in. Consistency is what is most important :)

Body weight fluctuates all day long. Put in this morning's weight and do it again next week. You are looking for trends.

I log my Monday morning first thing weight (up, down or the same). Any other weight at any other time doesn't get logged. That way I always have a consistent point to track.

Ok.. I always weigh myself in the morning.. but was surprised to weigh less this afternoon! I'll weigh again tomorrow morning and go with that weight. :) Thanks everyone.

Everyone does it differently but the key is to weight at the same time of day really. I log new lows only after two days running of that low showing as my weight bounces all over the place due to water retention.

    Good advice.
