Go for a walk. Do something to keep your mind off of food Sounds easier than it actually is, but will power is a muscle you need to exercise. Keep at it and you will be able to flex it any time you need to!0

Chew some gum or go do something.0

Do something to get your mind off of it. I find that I usually have cravings at around 3 or 4 in the afternoon. That's when I go take my daily walk. It helps me twofold; I avoid the temptation and I get moving!0

Thanks everyone I'm chewing sum gum now and its actually helping me out I really appreciate the help0

Ahh, habits and body cycles. The good news is with continued practice, these go away or move to different times around the new way and times you eat.
For the time being, get away from temptation. I signed up to duolingo and when I get these cravings that have nothing to do with hunger, I work on learning German. Anything that either requires deep concentration, or takes up the sound track of thoughts that leads to "I fancy some crisps!" when nothing else is going on, helps.0 -
If you're not hungry and you still want to eat, then you have to find out why you want to eat. If you don't know why you still want to eat, then you won't be able to find a solution.0

Go and clean your teeth - you won't want to eat for a while.0

Take a class. It can fill your time so you cannot eat and you can learn some new skills.0

Move and keep yourself occupied.0

I have this problem too

I have the same problem. It's usually AFTER dinner (when I'm not even hungry!). Problem is, it's my time to sit and veg on the sofa-worked all day, worked out, fixed dinner, cleaned up, prepared tomorrow's meals... and then I want to snack on the sofa and pack in calories I don't need. It's dark and windy (a walk is usually out), and it's the ONLY time I have with my busy husband, who wants to sit on the sofa too.
Lots of good suggestions here. I'm going to try some. It's one of my caloric downfalls. Just say "no," right?0 -
You said the most important thing. "I'm not hungry". If you know that, then definitely do all the suggestions above. I used to think people were crazy when they suggested going for a walk instead of snacks, but it does work.
My problem is I can fool myself into thinking that I AM actually hungry when I just want to snack and I do get hungry around 3 pm so I have learned to plan something with protein around that time. Eating out of habit is just that, a habit and these can be undone. I hardly ever snack at night after dinner, especially after I log my dinner and see where I am. On a good day, I've planned well enough to have an after dinner treat, so I don't feel deprived.0 -

Make a chopped salad, with some protein, like maybe some tilipia fish. The veggies will hit the spot, and the protein will tide you over.
It's not a lot of cals, and will save you from blowing your day with a binge.
Did you put some fiber into that shake? That helps a lot too.0 -
I haven't tried fiber yet but I will and I'm not much of a salad eater but lately I've been working on that too thank u for the helpLuvee_Dove5 wrote: »What I do I just had me a shake and I won't be eating dinner till 6 or 7 but I'm still tryna eat
