Burning pain on outside of ankles

I've made an appointment but when walking or running, I'll get a burning pain on the outside of my ankles, more so on my right ankle that goes halfway to my calf, if I continue exercising, it begins to make the top of my foot tingling and numb. Does anyone else have this or have any idea what it can be? If I purposely walk slow, very slow, it usually doesn't ever hurt but if I go at a decent speed, it isn't long until the pain comes.

Foam the area out. You most likely have fiber. Built up and it's Rubbing against your muscles causing you discomfort. You can use a foam roller and massage the tissue built up out . Or go see a doctor if it doesn't help .0

If it is both ankles, could be you are trying too much too soon or that you do not warm up or that your shoes are just wrong. If it is one leg only, then stop whatever is causing the pain until you can see a dr.0

You might need to see a specialist like a sports doctor, orthopedist, or a podiatrist.
One possibility is tarsal tunnel syndrome.0 -

One possibility is tarsal tunnel syndrome.
Nice, how did you come up with that one?
I would tend to agree, the burning suggests something is going on with your nerves; see a doctor.0 -

My bad - that affects the inner ankle. The outer ankle equivalent would be sural neuropathy and peroneal neuropathy. Anyway, a specialist can figure out what the problem is, while a general physician may just tell you to rest it. They're very good at that.0 -
