Fitbit success stories?

Hey fitness pals!

I recently got a Fitbit and am super excited about tracking steps and calories burn. According to the device, I walk an average of 15,000-17,000 steps a day (between walking to work and pacing around my classroom nonstop!) Fitbit calculates this as hundreds of calories burned! Can that possibly be right? I don't want to be assuming I'm burning more than I am (or incorrectly eating back those calories!)

According to the website Fitbits are very accurate. I'd love to hear the thoughts and experiences of someone who has used Fitbit, or a similar device, before.

    Since July I've been eating back all my Fitbit adjustments and successfully maintaining my weight loss. I have a Charge HR.

    I think my Fitbit may slightly over estimate my calories burned, but overall I think it's fairly accurate. If the step count it's giving you is correct, then yes you are probably burning a lot of extra calories. Step counts over 12,500 a day are considered to be indicative of a "very active" lifestyle.
