Alcohol

As a moderate drinker, I have observed after a few das of recording food consumption that the evening beer or wine have a big effect on the overall caloric intake. What can you all recommend as a remedy for this habit? Alcolhol can be considered to be a major factor in evening ritualistic relaxation these days...

Sadly, I have had to back off on alcohol intake while focusing on weight loss. Not only does alcohol quickly eat up your daily calorie allowance it removes the will to control eating. I will sometimes have a beer or two in the evening, sometimes I may even have a drink or two of Bacardi Rum and Diet Coke on the weekend, but I keep it under strict control right now.

Now, in another week I will be on vacation so all bets are off once I get to the lake cabin and everything is un-packed. :drinker:

Fit it in or go without. When I was really cutting, I kept it pretty minimal and really only indulged on the weekends and that didn't seem to hinder my progress any. I went to maintenance a few months ago having reached my initial goal and didn't have any difficulty indulging (not always in moderation) and maintaining, even on those days when I was way over on calories (I think lifting heavy things works miracles)...but now I'm on another cut and I'm finding that I really need to get back to my previous cut habits of laying off during the week...which is difficult because it's summer and there's nothing I enjoy more than relaxing on the patio in the evening with some adult beverages and good food.
