For the last 3 months i noticed that i have been gaining fat.(atleast 8 pounds) I havent stopped exercising and my diet did not change. I was eating around 1600 and now trried to drop it lower but didnt succed. I looked at my logs and noticed that that is just the time when i started to eat more and more protein and use shakes. When i started to eat around 1300 I was eating around 120 grams of protein and i weigh around 130 pounds right now. When i was happy with my body and was my leanest (i was able to see my abs, felt healthy...) i was eating around 1600 cals (i was trying to gradually go up to around 2000-2200 wich was my maintance including my activity and ate not more than 60 grams of protein. I know im not in caloric surplus so that isnt the reason.

Could to much protein be the cause of my weightgain?

Thanks a lot :)

You gain weight from a caloric surplus, not from certain macros. Protein does not convert into fat.

Are you logging correctly? Are you weighing everything?

60g protein isn't much. I eat typically >115g a day and still lose or maintain.

So are you eating 1300 or 1600 daily? Your message is a bit confusing.

Too much protein won't be an issue, but too many calories are. How are you measuring your intake?

And actually, at your size, you're on the border of being underweight.

I believe OP knows this. They have the typical prefix appended to their name that indicates an eating disorder and their about me lists one well known actress with disordered eating.

OP, I strongly urge you to seek assistance from a professional or team of professionals who can assist you on a path to recovery.

Sorry for confusing message. English isnt my first language. I now eat 1650 cals a day (my body burns around 2200 calories). I was eating 120g of protein on 1300 calories diet and when i started that i started to gain weight.

I'm going to leave this here. If your age is correct on your profile, you are underneath the healthy weight range for your age.

Part of it. You should be at 80-85 grams/day.
