I just started this today, I'm realizing I eat a lot of carbs and fat more than anything. Which is terrible.
Day 1 4:10pm and I've consumed more than half of my calories already hahaha..

Neither carbs nor fat are bad for you. Eating a reasonable amount of protein is good for you as it will help you hold on to lean mass while you diet, more so if combined with any kind of resistance program. Fats have a bad rap in the media based on old, outdated science... but fats are actually good for you as long as they fit your calorie goals.
What is actually bad for you is eating more calories than you need. The rest is just food and food is food. For weight loss, it doesn't matter what you eat as long as it's below your calorie goals. For nutrition, that's a different story. A well balanced diet will be better off for you nutritionally than restricting foods based on whether they are "good" or "bad".
A good rule of thumb is never to restrict anything (unless your doctor has advised based on legitimate health reasons) that you don't plan to restrict forever.0 -

But with a nutritional diet, it's possible to lose weight?
My goal is to lose 25 lbs but also eat better. Do they not go hand in hand?
Eating healthy does not equal restriction of food. I'm healthy, my blood tests are good, I eat whatever I want within my calorie goal... literally anything I want. You will find hundreds of others on the forums here that do the same. Eating "healthy" means different things to different people, but a universal definition is a balanced diet that contains all macro nutrients... carbs, fats, and proteins. Losing body fat is an energy equation... you need to consume less calories than you burn... that's it (barring specific medical conditions). You can lose weight eating only junk food if you want as long as you eat below your calorie goals. Now, is that healthy? No. But you will lose weight.
Your best bet for healthy eating is to eat whatever you want under your goal, observe your diet, educate yourself on healthy foods, and make wise decisions.
