Brand New to MFP

Hi Everyone,
I am new to MFP and I just wanted to say hello to everyone.. I am 29 years old and I need to lose some serious weight. I have gained weight every year since I graduated HS and I'm saying that enough is enough. My struggles are that my husband and I have very different schedules, and I'm practically a single mother in the evenings with him being gone. I am also the mother of 2 beautiful little girls, one is 5 and one just turned 2, so needless to say, all the hot dogs, corn dogs, french fries etc have helped me establish my current weight of 245lbs. I have got to do something and I am certainly going to try my hardest to drop some weight and at least be able to exercise more. I unlike most people, LOVE to exercise it just becomes almost impossible to do with having my children, along with having issues sleeping which I believe is due to stress about my weight and my everyday life situations.
If any of you have any suggestions for food ideas, fast and simple things along with workout ideas that is something that I can do at home, please send a message or respond to this post.. I am open to doing anything at this point..
I apologize for the novel, but I'm hoping to get some support from this website and a point in the right direction.
Thank you in advance and good luck to you all with your present goals... YOU CAN DO IT!!

Welcome!
I am happy that you have come here to get motivation and support. I am 26 @ 240lbs with the same goals, so I thought maybe we could be friends :-)
First of all, your post alarmed me. Why are you feeding your young children such horrible food? You are setting both you and them up for failure when it comes to a healthy diet. Whatever you feed them, you know you are snacking on it, so why even bother giving them the bad stuff when you shouldnt be eating it? And you should also be setting a good example to make sure they dont follow in your footsteps and end up overweight, unhappy and stressed out. Just something to think about :-)
I don't have children, so I know it's easy for me to say "dont feed them crap" because I dont really know what its like to feel like a single mom while a husband works. It just makes sense to me that you should feed your kids what you should be eating, so that when you snack with them, its not on the junk but on healthier stuff.
I also do not sleep well at night so having the energy to do anything is always lacking. I found though that no matter how late I go to bed or how bad I sleep, I always feel better after a good sweat. Can you work out in the morning, maybe while the hubby is with the kiddos? Just wake up 30-45 minutes earlier and get a walk/jog or video in and get in your work out. Then, during the day when the kids take their naps, do some more push ups, crunches, ball work (if you dont have a ball, GET ONE! You can do anything on the ball while watching TV, and not just during commercials, but during the entire show!) Get the kids to do it with you, have them dance around for the 2 minutes commercials while you do your pushups or have them try to do them with you.
Get everyone involved :-)
Anyways, good luck to you. I sent a friend request to you, so hopefully we can encourage each other!0
