exercise calories

Could I possibly be over estimating my exercise calories?? I do my workouts, pay attention to the amount of time then enter it into mfp and go according to what it says then I make sure to eat the exercise calories but I am wondering if I am not burning as many calories as it says I am. I haven't been loosing any weight or inches, not really, so am I eating too much??

Probably. MFP tends to be on the high side for exercise cals. It gives me over 400 cal for an hour of (very slow) swimming. FitBit gives me about 250. Most people would suggest eating about 50-75% of the MFP calories given from exercise. That should make the difference for you.

Could you be? Yes. Are you? Hard to say. The numbers MFP gives are just estimates. For some people, they are very close. For others, they are way off.

When you say you haven't been losing weight or inches... over what period of time is that? How long have you been at it?

Probably. Most here would advise to eating 50-75% of your exercise calories back.

I have been at it for just over a month

I'll try eating just 75% of the calories and see if that helps

I looked at the last week of your diary and you've only completed 1 day's worth of intake (1550 cals). Are you tracking cals somewhere else? Chances are there is a bigger error in your intake than there is in your expenditure.

Start tracking intake for a month and report back. Without solid tracking it will be hard to give better advice. Get a food scale, this will help you too!!
