My weight gain had been from going through menopause. When I exercise the hot flashes are brutal. Can anybody help me with coping with this. I just want to stop my workout

Have you tried aqua fit? The water temp keeps you cooler, swimming, water walking/jogging or water spin classes would do the same.

If you are doing mainly cardio, you may find switching out some of it to weight lifting/ bodywork helps, or lowering the intensity of the cardio.

I lost all my weight during menopause, and once I had established a good exercise routine, found that the hot flashes actually diminished.

Are you finding there is a particular time if day you are getting hot flashes?
Mine were mostly in the morning and late at night, so found exercising in the evening suited me best. You may just have to experiment with timing and comfort.

Almost forgot; keeping extra hydrated seemed to help me for some reason.

    Cheers, h.
( I did aqua fit, belly dancing, Pilates, walking, and body weight exercises following Nerdfitness.)

Oh I can relate! Those hot flashes were the worst!!
I'm done now & don't get them any more. Hang on, it will get better! I agree with above. See if there's any sort of pattern & modify activities accordingly. Going longer at lower intensity might provide a work around. Pool fitness could be ideal.
I must have been in active menopause between about 41, when I stopped nursing my last daughter & 48 which is about when I had my last period. During that whole spell I even stopped two times (first for 9 months, the second time for 13 months... cruel, no?) but sure enough the periods and hot flashes would resume. I GAVE AWAY ALL MY PULLOVER SWEATERS!! hahaha Swore up & down I would only wear cardigans ever again. Well,I'm 52 now. Done for sure and the happy wearer of a new wool pullover. I feel great and completely myself again.
