Elbow Pain

Not my actual joint, but the tendons on the inner part of elbow, to the point of my arm resisting straightening completely and me making an ugly fact every time I have to use my arms.
I worked my biceps and tricepts on Sunday, and I was my first time trying heavy weights vs lower weights. My arms are definitely sore, but nothing like my elbows!
I'm assuming tendons heal more slowly than muscle (if that's really what's causing the pain), so I'm wondering if maybe I should lay off the arms until my pain decreases? I'm scheduled for an upper body appt with my trainer tomorrow, but I'm thinking I should possibly work my bottom half instead.
Also, any suggestions for pain management?
