You? you seem to know everything and everything0

I don't know but an awful lot of my MFP friends seem to be in need of him on a regular basis.0

Just a joke thread because this is how I initially read the title of the other thread0

Wouldn't it be amazing to have your own person IT guy? Although I guess you can tell yourself to turn something off then on again0

I can't tell you how frequently the only time I hear from a random family member is because something is wrong with their computer.
When I first moved into my own place after high school, word somehow got out in the apartment complex I lived in that I worked in IT, and there were at least a handful of cases of random people knocking on my door asking if I could fix their computers.0 -
Yes, got the joke. I was also joking. I sometimes do need my own personal IT assistant! Thank god restarting the router of whatever device is causing me to freak out usually works!

I never need anyone to fix my computers because I use Apple products exclusively.0

Sorry, didn't mean for it to come off that way, though from my experience the IT fields are 90% men. More women should get into IT though, especially programming!0 -

That's awesome. I've been working in IT, specifically website development and software development, for all of my professional life. In that time, I've met maybe 1 woman who was also a developer. It's a pretty rare thing, sadly. Most of the women in IT from my experience are either graphic designers (which is an awesome and extremely necessary role) or Account Managers & Sales Reps.0 -
Me. I am officially an IT guy - instructional technologist.0

I'm not bad. Wired my whole house and running a 20 port switch. You can plug in, in almost every room.0

oh i just did it for fun .. a handful of us got to do an IT course in high school (most of us female), which i found useful when i went onto college to do Art & design , i ended up doing media and business management, which was mostly computers and office stuff. Then the internet came along and i was building forums and websites for fun.0 -
