Bored of eating phase

I was bulking for about 5 months, eating regularly 3K+ calories a day.

Towards the start of the summer, I suddenly couldn't handle eating that much food, and slowly moved down to less and less calories.

Part of the reason was being very tired maintaining my food diary and having to eat every 2-3 hours, plus lots of cooking.

The bigger reason, I think, is that I've been incredibly bored of the food I eat. I really enjoy eating, but these days nothing tastes good. What's been motivating me to eat is being hungry, and knowing that I'll lose any muscle I gained if I don't keep my food intake up.

I have a few different grocery stores available to me (Wegmans, Trader Joes, Whole Foods, etc.), and I visit the latter two very often. But I just can't seem to find or try any foods that I end up actually enjoying.

What are you guys' experiences with this kind of phase? How did you find new foods when you got really bored of your staples ?

I can't speak to those of you all bulking and what that requires but just a question about how you prepare your foods if they are boring you. Are you using herbs, spices, condiments, etc.? There are an almost infinite number of recipes for something as simple as a chicken. Many of them are really easy. It's easy to find recipes just by googling something like "chicken mustard recipe." Lots of things will pop up. I rarely come upon any combo for which there aren't lots of suggestions online. Do you cook?

I have those phases too. I just eat whatever is balanced and lowish calories. I'm not bulking though.. but it makes it tough for me because I'm never satisfied with my meals when it happens, so I'm more likely to rely to junk food to make me satisfied (and eat too much of it because it doesn't satisfy me either!).

They don't last too long though thankfully, eventually I start craving a specific dish again and can go back to enjoying my food... but yeah I can spend hours browsing the web for recipes when it happens and not find anything I want to eat. I'm a bit in that phase again right now, which is a problem. So I'm probably going to buy some chicken breasts and more some frozen veggies and just call it a day...
