Hitting that plateau. I've lost a lot of weight quickly and now i am left with my last 40lbs. I've been doing weight training everday of the week plus sticking to a strick diet and drinking nothing but a huge amount of water. Yet each week i am still at the same weight. Ive heard i need to up my cardio. Curious if others have any tips, determined to reach my goal but it's just a let down not seeing results.

When was the last time you lost?0

You can add in cardio or increase it just to get things going again. Also tighten up your logging. If that doesn't work you may have to decrease your calories.0

We definitely need more information in order to give you advice. How many weeks has it been? How many calories are you eating? Do you eat back your exercise calories?0
-
what weigh training program are you following and why are you not taking any rest days?0

@breeisamaziing It would definitely help if you could come back and answer some of the questions people are asking or share more details (only if you're comfortable sharing, of course). Without more details, I'll go with a stock answer:

Past month i have been attempting to really buckle down with dieting and working out. I do not eat my calories back when working out, I don't even enter my workouts in my journal because i cannot find them in the search unless doing cardio which i haven't been lately. And i do take rest days at least one or two days ( the weekend) thank you for working twoards helping me out. I am also a vegetarian, my trainer said that could be a possible negative because of my lack of protien... i don't know what i would have to have it balanced at calories, fat, carbs, etc. Also, looking into finding a protein supplement that is organic. So determined.0

I have read that making a soupy mixture of apple cider vinegar and shredded cucumbers can help with a plateau. (If nothing else, it could shock your body into wanting to shed more pounds!) A whole month on a plateau sounds like a long time but not unheard of. (I've certainly been there.) Patience - hard, I know!
I made smoothies for my husband with protein powder in them, but I don't remember what kind or whether it was organic.0 -

It sounds like your trainer might be under-informated about vegetarianism. There are multiple vegetarian sources of protein -- beans, grains, tofu, tempeh, seitan, soy milk are all great plant sources of protein. If you eat eggs and dairy, those also have abundant protein. Individual vegetarians or vegans may struggle to meet their protein needs, but it isn't inherent to being vegetarian or vegan. We have many successful losers/maintainers here who don't eat meat and/or animal products.0 -

Agreed. There's no reason at all you can't get in adequate protein as a veg. Vegans do it without the benefit of cheese and eggs, there's no reason on earth you can't. And there are plenty of protein powders that are made from non-animal sources of protein that you could use if you aren't hitting that macro with food intake. This one is my favorite cause it's fairly low calorie and has very little artificial sweetener (There's nothing unsafe about artificial sweeteners aside from the fact I find them disgusting).

ETA: I know it says "natural flavor" right on the container, I say artificial sweetener because they use stevia, which is natural really, but it's still not my beloved cane sugar, so just sayin'.0 -
