Since having my fitbit aria scales I've started to weigh myself on a daily basis.....and yes it's been at the same time, am after 1st cup of coffee....so far after a few days it's been up and down between 14st 12lb and 15st 1lb, I know all the factors that can have an effect on your weight, water intake etc etc....just curious how often other people weigh themselves? Does it motivate you to do it daily or is once a week help you stay on track.....

I weight daily, but only pay attention to weekly changes. I like having the data points for trend weight since charts and graphs are a little more motivating than pure numbers.

If you can mentally handle the ups and downs, daily weigh ins (or multiple daily weigh ins) can be very informative and tell you how your body reacts to overeating, sodium, working out, recovery, poor sleeps, etc.
I've run the gambit from weighing myself 6 times a day (when I was in losing mode and was super pumped to see every ouch disappear), to weighing myself rarely (once a month) when I cared more about fitness goals, or other metrics (clothing fit...mirror etc.)
Kind of depends on your state of mind.

I have always weighed once a week and every week so far (15 weeks) I have lost either 1lb or 2lb. I really couldn't be bothered with daily fluctuations.

I tend to weigh daily. I probably shouldn't, because it gets discouraging, but I obsess over it lol.
  • I use to weigh once a week but now I am weighing daily. I want to see the fluctuations and how different foods add water weight, etc. Do I gain weight during my period...all that stuff that doesn't matter but I want to know about anyway.

Nothing wrong with weighing daily but you really should chart it daily to get the trend. Plenty of apps available to do that. I use Libra. trendweight is also popular.

Daily, because I like to see all the data points on Libra (the tracking app).

I weigh daily and chart this in Excel. I record new lows in MFP when they look like they are sticking.

I think I will get into the daily weighing, it sorts of keeps me on track if I've had a bad day. I noticed yesterday after the weekend weight had gone up slightly and that's caused me to modify my eating, which I can only see as a good thing

I weigh daily. I like it and it seems to motivate me no matter if the number is up or down. So, a week ago I was at my lowest, then was out for a day shopping, high sodium made the next morn weight was 3lbs higher, that day I tweaked my hamstring mildly, a bit of muscle repair upped the scale by one more, the following day maintained, and since have been going down a half lb here and there. It is good for mee to see the fluctuations! I like details though and don't let this stuff stress me out.

I weigh daily and track on Libra (smartphone app). Starting to notate my weigh ins a little more (hours of sleep, diet anomalies from previous day, higher or lower water intake, physical activity) so I can see how all of those effect my weight. Libra also has a trend weight which I find helpful, and gives me an expected date of when I will hit my goal weight (currently Oct 6th, 2016). I update my weight weekly on MFP though, to adjust calories if necessary.

What can I say, I like data :)

Weigh on Fridays usually, though I step on the scale during the week sometimes. I only log once a month or so though.

This is why I weigh daily. As a woman, I also wanted to see how my hormones and health condition affects my weight. I've been doing it for the past 2 1/2 months and I've noticed trends related to my hormones. This has given me piece of mind. I plan to continue taking 2-3 months into maintenance. I've always been an almost daily weigher, I'll probably just won't worry about tracking it as much.

I weigh daily but log it on MFP once a week. I feel like it's helpful for me to see what the scale is doing during the week to keep me on track. Yes there are days my weight jumps way up for no apparent reason. But I am usually pretty good at just letting it go.

    Yep, this for me.
I'm a behavior analyst & speech therapist...I love data, graphs, and trends.
I use Libra app for daily morning weigh-ins and I am comfortable with the fluctuations. It's helped me adjust some of my habits over the past month I've been using it.

Your aria will automatically update to MFP is you synch them and that will automatically give you a great trend graph to help you understand fluctuations

Oh and weigh yourself after getting up, using the bathroom, before coffee and nekkid
