Looking for friends!! Long story short...pregnant in 2012 with 3 months of bed rest, 4 month c section wound recovery, pregnant in 2014, bed rest again, wound issues again, severe post partum depression...needless to say I have brought couch potato to a new level. Trying to get moving and build stamina and strength. Portion control is the only diet change for now but may do a moderate carb diet. Looking for others to help keep me focused. I have 2 little girls I want to set a good example for and be active for. My main focus right now is just MOVE!! I feel like the mental and physical benefits of exercise will get my mind set on changing my body.

Awesome!! Welcome aboard. Good for you for wanting to make a change! You're obviously a great mom  just imagine how stronger your relationship will be with them and how proud of you they will be seeing mom succeed!

Sounds like you have a good idea on how to start out. No need to make radical changes all at once. Picking small changes and slowly adding in new changes goes a long way towards sticking to it.

Thank you. I have tried so many times this specific diet or another and get discouraged of all the restrictions. I want to make lasting changes and hope baby steps are the way to do that. I have always been an all or nothing girl but I am realizing I have time to invest in myself.

I'm new here too msapril (to the message board at least) and like you I have PCOS. I agree with usmcmp that picking small changes first and adding to it will help.

You have a great idea on starting out and use your children as motivation. Walking is a great start and taking the kids along with help...even just 30 minutes a day is a start that you can increase as time goes on. Just keep a positive outlook and reach for small goals!
