Hi there ,

Mixture of emotions really, excited, daunted but over all really encouraged by looking at this app and using it as a tool in my future weightloss

Wishing you the best in your efforts!!

Oh, and I'd recommend reading the stickies at the top of the weight loss help forum if you're just starting out - especially those on how to accurately weigh and log your food.

Awesome! Just be prepared for the excitement to wear off. I'm definitely not trying to rain on your parade, but I expected to be excited about this stuff forever. Don't get me wrong.. it's still really cool, but the amazing newness isn't there anymore. I think that's when it can really get challenging.

All the best to you and everyone in their journies to health :) & do feel free to add me if you need a friend. My mfp friends inspire me with their success & even with failures.

After so many years of assuming the situation was hopeless, I'm getting a huge charge out of realizing it's in my control after all. I've seen friends lose 50-100 lbs. and always thought there must be some kind of magic operating. That's not it at all. It's just adding consistent exercise and staying within a calorie budget. I address the calorie budget by controlling portions, not by crossing any particular food off the list. I think that's permanently sustainable. Well, listen to me, as if I were an expert--I just started. But it's working.
