Weightlifting after cataract surgery

Hi! Yesterday, I went to an eye clinic for annual checkup as I had cataract surgery 4 years ago when I was 16 years old. My cataract was hereditary. My surgeon said that I can lift light weights, but I can't lift heavy. I'm wondering if anyone has the same experience? Are you cleared by your doctor to lift weights?

Also, do you have any suggestions of what can substitute weightlifting that's safer for my eyes? Or is it effective if I use light weights and high reps to burn fat?

Thank you!

No experience, sorry. Did your surgeon say you can *never* lift heavy, or just after the surgery while you were recovering?
Light weights are better than no weights, but not as good as heavy weight for maintaining muscle during fat loss.

    Perhaps stepping up the reps?

    Like 8-12 reps?
